I made a compilation of my greatest jokes
I’m aware it might seem pretentious to make a greatest hits compilation video after only doing five shows. But make sure you check out this amazing video of my greatest hits! These are the cuts that I thought had the best crowd reaction and some personal favorites. Also, a giant website overlay because of marketing or something. I don’t know how that shit works. I’ve never successfully promoted anything. What am I supposed to say about it? How am I supposed to prepare people for this? “uhh I talked a bit about my hairy asshole and a few people laughed”. Killer content there comedy Rambo. Watch out ya might take over PewDiePie on YouTube with that groundbreaking material.
It’s also masterly edited to take out much of the dull moments. Not only in terms of jokes or bits that didn’t work out. I really like using negative space with stand up. I intentionally use it in a lot of bits. But when I’m unprepared or nervous it really does impact the cadence of the performance with lengthy pauses that don’t add to the jokes. That unscheduled negative space is something I need to handle better to keep the flow of the performance moving. I feel like part of the source is that I haven’t repeated a joke once so far.
When we have professional comedians coming to the shows I can tell how much they’ve really practiced and refined their jokes for the stage. I’ve consistently been in a state of “trying things out”, so I haven’t had a lot of time to iron out the wrinkles in my bits and transitions. I’m going to keep trying to do new stuff every time though. I like the pressure of having to come up with new stuff constantly. I don’t think every joke needs to be a home run. And I’m mostly happy with being able to execute an idea cleanly even if people don’t laugh or appreciate it.
I have another chance this Tuesday at the new Lisbon Shitty Comedy Show. That’s literally the name. It’s so good I love it.
